Get ready for
your shoot.

A little preparation helps the property look its best and keeps shoot day moving smoothly. Use this checklist for your next Roanoke-area real estate photography appointment.

For agents, owners & property managers

A better first look starts before the camera arrives.

You do not need a perfect property. Focus on clean sightlines, open access, and the details buyers should notice. If a room or exterior area will not be ready, tell us beforehand so we can plan the coverage.

Shoot-day checklist

Start with the rooms

  • Open blinds and curtains where the view and natural light help the room.
  • Turn on working lights and replace burned-out bulbs in advance.
  • Clear counters, tables, floors, and visible personal items. Tuck away cords, bins, and cleaning supplies.
  • Make beds, straighten furniture, and remove distracting seasonal or temporary décor.

Give the exterior its best first impression

  • Move vehicles away from the front of the property and driveway if possible.
  • Put away hoses, toys, trash cans, and yard tools.
  • Mow or tidy the lawn and clear porches, patios, and entryways.
  • Tell us about any views, acreage, amenities, or exterior details that should be shown.

Make the appointment easy

  • Confirm access, parking, and any gate or lockbox instructions before the shoot.
  • Arrange for pets to be secured or off-site.
  • Let occupants know when the photographer will arrive and allow rooms to be photo-ready at that time.
  • Flag spaces that should not be photographed or any property restrictions.

If you booked floor plans or video

  • For floor plans, make all included rooms accessible and confirm which spaces belong in the drawing.
  • For video, keep the main walkthrough path clear and prepare the property as you would for photos.
  • For aerial coverage, share any boundaries or features worth showing; flights still depend on weather, airspace, and safe conditions.

One final check

Ready when we arrive.

If you are representing the seller, share this page before the appointment and walk through the property once more before we begin. Need to prioritize an unusual feature or discuss a commercial space? Add it to your booking request.
